Is the one on the left scared? Hurt? thinking? mad?
is the one on the right casually holding his hand-- a sign of dominance? support? need?
Just remember Knives can look quite calm and happy on the surface, even when doing cruel things.
This might be easy for you to tell, cause Im not the best and subtlties.. not to mention i messed up the face on the right during inking grr...

They're not chicks-- have you never watched Trigun?
They're only a year old in this pic, but they are like ten year old humans, though their IQ is way above adult humans. So their hair kinda grew fast and I guess the other crew memebers just let them grow it out for a while. Not long after this Rem gives Vash his infamous hair cut and Knives cuts his own hair.
But yeah. They're shorts. And they're just 10 year old boys with long hair...
