In one fan-fic -I think it's in a fan-fic- The lyric" One is a genius,the other insane" means the reverse of what you think. Pinky is the genius, so far above the sheep, that his intellect is not usually glimpsed. It;s Brain that is insane. Pinky very subtly keeps Brain's megalomaniac ideas from wreaking havoc and mayhem on the world, all the while maintaining a facade of moronic lunacy.
